Hunters: Gontis Rampage

Ian hid in the shadows of the tall building glancing around the edge while keeping his body hidden. He could see Gontis sitting down banging on the side of a building crushing its frame relentlessly with a car. Shit…. Ian thought to himself.

“Dani, you in position yet?” Ian spoke through the mic of his suit as he held the ear-com button.

“Yeah, babe got him in my sights. Your good to go.” Dani’s soothing voice came back through Ian’s suit.

Andddddd it’s showtime… Ian thought as he came out of the shadows of the building.

“Gontis!” Ian called out holding his hands up.

Gontis dropped the car he was playing with and gave his attention to Ian.

“Hey, buddy! Remember me?” Ian started sweating when Gontis stood up giving way to his towering figure and walked towards Ian.

“You no nice!” Gontis spoke placing his two smaller arms on his head partly covering his eyes, and letting his larger two rest by his side. “You hit Gontis!” His voice got louder.

“I didn’t mean that bud, how about we go play? But only if you go back to the farm.” Ian let out as his heart started beating fast.

“I no go back! They do bad things to Gontis!” He smacked the wall of the building with his bigger arms.

“They are just trying to help you bud.” Ian tried to calm him down.

“THEY NO HELP!” Gontis was now angry punching the ground in front of Ian causing him to drop his hands and jump back.

“Dani…. Now would be a good time to shoot him.” Ian mumbled through his mic.

“Dani?” Ian was now reaching for his sidearm.

Gontis noticed Ian reaching down his suit for his sidearm and picked up a nearby car. “You try to hurt Gontis!” he let out as he launched the car at Ian crushing him between a pole and the car.

“Shit! Suit full power!” Ian commanded his suit as Gontis started charging towards him.

Ian punched the car back towards Gontis with the power of the suit, but he punched it to the side and kept charging. Ian then grabbed his sidearm and shot a few warning shots at Gontis to see if he would stop, but he kept coming.

“Damnit!” Ian let out as he ran in-between nearby buildings adjusting the power setting on his weapon from shock to lethal.

“Hey, babe! He jumped the building look out.” Dani finally came through the mic.

Ian immediately stopped and looked up, and there Grontis was falling right on top of him knocking him to the ground.

“Fine time for you to join us.” Ian grumbled as he shot Grontis several times from the body to the face staggering him.

“Want to have that talk now? You know since you have nowhere to go right now.” Dani said through the mic with a soft-spoken voice.

“WHAT!? RIGHT NOW?” Ian yelled.

“I can wait, the view is pretty good from up here.” She said looking through the scope of her weapon watching Grontis manhandle Ian.

“I BET YOU’RE GETTING A KICK OUT OF THIS!” Ian snapped punching Gontis off with his left hand and firing a barrage of shots at him.

“Remember, you can’t kill our target or the bosses will be mad.” Dani came back through the mic when she saw Ian firing at Gontis.

“Well if you would have shot him with the dart from the beginning, I wouldn’t be in this predicament.” Ian mumbled as he put his weapon back in the suit and charged the staggered Gontis.

Gontis shook it off quickly, and grabbed the charging Ian with his lower strong arm and swung him from building to building.

“You know this could all be over if you would just have the conversation with me.” Dani let out a giggle.

Ian ignored her as he swung his leg around kicking Gontis in his deformed face forcing him to let go. Ian caught his fall to the ground this time. Activating his shockers on the knuckles of his suit and charging at Gontis hitting him with a flurry of jabs and hooks, and knocking him out of the alleyway. Even as Gontis was falling backward, Ian didn’t let up he turned the Shockers up to full power punishing Gontis body. Just when it seemed like Gontis was going to get knocked unconscious, Ian’s shockers in the knuckles of his suit powered down due to power failure. He had been using up to much power in his suit. This gave Gontis plenty of time to recovery.

“What… the…” Ian was punched into a building knocking his suit’s power out. “Come on! Turn on!” Ian spoke out loud to his suit as he watched Gontis stand up slowly. Licking the blood off his face as he stared at Ian and let out a loud roar.

“Ian, babe. My finger is itching to pull the trigger just say the word.” Dani came back through the mic that was in his ear and not his suit.

Ian didn’t respond as he tried to get his suit’s power back up as Gontis stared at him. Gontis then started a slow walk towards Ian, which turned into an all-out sprint.

“Babe?” Dani came through once more as she saw Gontis charging towards Ian while his suit’s power was down.

Ian didn’t want to say yes they could talk about it but Gontis was getting closer and closer. He had no choice.

“Fine!, yes we can talk about MARRIAGE!” as soon as the words left his mouth he could hear the sound of Dani’s sniper cannon go off and a second later Gontis head was blown from his body.

“Did I say that?” Dani responded, and turned off her communicator without letting Ian respond.

Maybe next time he will go to the briefing she laughed.

It was hard to keep this one within 1k words. Hope you guys enjoyed let me know what you thought in the comments below.

After a long night of hanging with the fellas and watching sports Jamie and Marcus were finally headed home.

“Before I drop you off I have to make a quick stop on the way to your house bro.” Jamie told Marcus “It’ll be real quick”

“Man, this isn’t one of your booty calls is it?” Marcus asked

“Come on now, I’m saving myself for marriage” Jamie joked as Marcus just gave him a flat stare. “Besides its a guy. I left something at his house last week I just need to grab it.”

“Yeah, yeah, I’m in no rush.”

Jamie and Marcus finally arrived at Jamie’s friend house.

“I’ll be right back, this will be real quick, just need to grab something and make sure Franks alright.” Jamie said to Marcus while opening the car door.

“Man can I use his bathroom I gotta piss.” Marcus laughed while shaking his legs.

“Man—  sit your ass down and, hold it I’m coming right back” Jamie laughed while getting out the car.

Asshole. Marcus thought to himself as he watched Jamie walk up to Franks house.

As the time passed by Marcus couldn’t hold it anymore so he got out the car and went on the side of Franks house near some bushes to urinate. While he was relieving himself he heard arguing coming from the house. He could hear Jamie voice along with another deep male voice. Jamie was yelling at the other guy who Marcus could only assume was Frank. He was yelling at him about how he was supposed to have something ready for him. Marcus debated on if he should go back to the car or knock on the door and see if everything was alright.

“It’s none of my business. Just get back in the car.” Marcus thought to himself as he began to walk away from the house. Suddenly a loud gunshot noise came from the house causing Marcus to get down and look back towards the house. He looked towards the windows to see if he could see anything or anyone. There was Jamie looking right back at him, with a weapon in his hand. Looking right into Jamie’s hazel brown eyes not knowing what he should do, as his heart rate increased sporadically. Jamie broke eye contact running towards the front door, sending Marcus into a frenzy.

Marcus weighed his options, he didn’t know if he should stay and wait to hear out Jamie’s explanation of what he just did or if he should just make a run for it. Marcus heard the door open, and his instinct to survive kicked in as he ran through the field and across the street. Running through the dark streets Marcus didn’t hear or see anything behind him as he stopped to catch his breath. Bending down his hands on his knees, panting relentlessly. His phone rings, he picks it up and notices its Jamie.

“Jamie, what the hell?” Marcus asked still trying to catch his breath.

“Marcus… I didn’t mean to do that” Jamie said on the other end sounding as if he were panicking. “We started arguing, and he reached for the gun and it went off. You have to believe me, Marcus.”

“You have to call the police, and turn yourself in if you didn’t mean it they will understand.”

“Hello? Jamie?” Marcus didn’t get an answer as Jamie went silent.

Marcus turned around and noticed a car in the distance. He went and waved his hand trying to get the cars attention. The car began coming in his direction, and Marcus sighed a sigh of relief. The car got closer and wasn’t slowing down, but Marcus noticed too late as the car was already within striking distance of hitting him. Marcus flew over the top of the car rolling onto the pavement. In pain, Marcus couldn’t move much as he heard the door open and Jamie’s voice followed.

“Why’d you run? You made me panic!” Jamie said walking in circles around Marcus with his hands pressed hard against his head holding his weapon.

“There’s still time to make this right, you don’t have to do this Jamie.” Marcus said wincing in pain.

“I’m not going to jail, I can’t go back to jail. I’d die in there.”

Marcus went silent.

“Marcus?” Jamie leaned closer to the still Marcus.

Marcus jumped up using everything he had left in him head-butting Jamie staggering him. Marcus went for the gun trying to take it but, Jamie’s grip was ungiving. They began tussling for the gun until it went off, both Marcus and Jamie stepped back looking at each other.

“Marcus?” Jamie asked as he fell to his knees. “Marcus? I’m sorry.”

He said as he watched Marcus eyes widen as he placed his hands on the gunshot wound that pierced his chest.

Marcus fell to the ground lifeless.

As Shawn took another sip of his whiskey a young lady came and took the seat next to him.

“Wow, a drink already?” She smiled “I’m Lauren.” she said as she extended her hand.

“I’m Shawn.” he said as he shook her hand. She felt his sweaty palm as she shook back.

“I take it you don’t like flying?” Lauren asked
“This is my first time actually” Shawn replied while taking another sip of his whiskey.
“Ahh, it’s not that bad! Trust me I do it all the time. It’ll be to be easy, I’ll talk you through it…. just relax.”
“That’s why I’m drinking, I’m trying to—“ Shawn stopped short when he noticed the plane began to taxi onto the runway. “Here we go. I don’t know how I got talked into taking a flight.” Shawn downed the rest of his whiskey. “Nerves are bad, and the plane hasn’t even—”  Shawn was cut off by the flight attendants announcement to the passengers.
“Please enjoy the flight.” The flight attendant said as the announcement ended.
“This is your captain speaking, we’ve been given the green light to take off. flight attendants please be seated for take off.” The captain’s announcement ended.

As the plane began to speed up, and Shawn became anxious. He closed his eyes and put his hand on his head as his legs began to shake. “Please God I know I haven’t been the best of people in this world but I promise if you help me make it out of this I will change my life”  Shawn prayed to himself as the plane began ascending. He felt like he heard every little noise the plane made.
“Is it suppose to sound like that?” Shawn asked Lauren.
“What noise? The engine?” Lauren said with a smile that went unnoticed to Shawn. His eyes were closed and his head leaned back in the seat. She placed her hand on his leg. “It’s fine. I’ll get you another drink on me when we are at cruising altitude…. Just relax!” She giggled
“Girl—” he started just gazing at her blue eyes. “I need that drink now.” he replied while shaking his head. Lauren just tried not to laugh, but she thought it was funny.
“This is your captain speaking. We are now at 33,000 feet our cruising altitude. The flight attendants will be around shortly to assist you with drinks and snacks. Should be approximately three hours and a half until we land in Fairbanks, Alaska.”
“33,000 FEET!? He had to say that? We don’t need to know how high in the damn air we are. Lord!” Shawn looked at Lauren who was side eyeing him while covering her mouth trying not to laugh. “Is this funny?”
“I’m sorry! I’m sorry!” she put her head down, as she began to turn red. “I’m not laughing…. I promise!”
Shawn just shook his head as he caught glimpse of the flight attendant walking down the aisle with her cart.
“Would you like a drink or a snack?” the flight attendant asked Lauren who was still trying to hold her laughter in. Shawn answered instead. “We will take a triple shot of whiskey and vodka. No ice please!”
“Okay, I’ll get that right away.” The flight attendant seemed astonished at the choices Shawn selected.  “Anything for you Ms?” she asked Lauren who now had gained her composure.
“Just a coke and rum for me please.” She smiled looking at Shawn nearly downing his whiskey.
“I needed that.” Shawn said finally claiming himself.
“I told you once you get to cruising altitude you’ll be fine. Flying isn’t all that scary.”
“Girl, I’m probably only relaxed now because I got this liquor in me.”
“So what brings you to Fairbanks?” Lauren asked
“Just visiting a friend. She’s having a baby and I’m coming for support.” Shawn replied.
“Well, that’s kind of you. How long are you staying?”
“Just a few days. Not long.”
“Well if you get some free time maybe give me a call or text and I’ll show you around.”
“That doesn’t sound like a bad idea. I’m sure you could show me a lot of things.” Shawn and Lauren were now flirting back and forth until the plane began to tremble abruptly and the seatbelt sign illuminated.
“Seems like we are hitting some unexpected turbulence….please stay seated and put your seatbelt on as the seatbelt sign is now illuminated.” The captain announced.
Shawn closed his eyes trying not to panic, but he began to shudder at the thought of what was happening. “Lord I’m coming to you again. Please allow me to make it through this flight I will never do this again. I will get a rental and just drive home if you help me make it through this flight.” Shawn prayed to himself again. The turbulence was gone. “Thank you Lord”. Shawn thought to himself.
“The turbulence has cleared, and we are now preparing to land. Flight attendants please prep the cabinet for landing.” The captain announced.
“This is the last part Shawn, then we will be on the ground and your first flight will be over!” Lauren said clapping and looking at Shawn who seemed to be very anxious. The sound of the plane breaking soon followed.
“Welcome to Fairbanks Alaska where the current time is 9:24 pm, hope you enjoy your stay, and thank you for flying with us.”

I wanted to challenge myself to write a Flash Fiction about someones first time flying on a plane. There will be a lot more Flash Fiction coming in the future. Remember to like comment, give suggestions, and subscribe if you liked it, and want to see all the other creations I have in store.
